About Philip Robertson

Based in Arthurs Seat and Melbourne, Philip has been taking landscape pictures around the Peninsula for many years. With a spotlight on the Shoreham, Flinders, and Red Hill areas, many of his photos explore the evolving spectrum of light and sky against familiar local places.

Photography Philosophy

My approach to landscape photography is rooted in the belief that the most profound images emerge from deep familiarity with place. Rather than seeking the spectacular or exotic, I find myself drawn to the quiet moments of revelation that occur when you truly know a landscape.

The "Hinterland Drive" series exemplifies this philosophy - it's a meditation on the journey many locals take regularly, yet seen through the lens of careful attention to time, season, and the ever-changing quality of light.
